Boldness 'secret Ingredient' Advertising Campaign Launch

ArcelorMittal launches its new 'boldness' advertising campaign as of May 21, 2008. In the first wave, four advertisements will appear in such major publications as The Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Herald Tribune.

In 2007, with ArcelorMittal's first advertising campaign: 'boldness changes everything', almost 25 million people worldwide viewed the print campaign, and more than 1 million people clicked on the online banners. In 2008, ArcelorMittal is launching a new advertising campaign which conveys a single message: boldness is the secret ingredient to 'transforming tomorrow'.

The simple equation: 'Today + boldness = Tomorrow' demonstrates the magic of boldness and makes it happen through concrete examples. In the first wave, a suite of four initial advertisements, created by the TBWA agency, will be placed in prominent global publications. The advertising concept is flexible and regionally adaptable. Ads with localised content will be created later in 2008.

Growth Beyond Steel

On June 17, ArcelorMittal held its annual Individual Shareholder Event. Whether in Japan, Russia or Europe, shareholders were able to listen in, ask questions and access information - all in real time - as they were transported into a virtual ArcelorMittal world.

ArcelorMittal shareholders were invited to attend Luxembourg headquarters as Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman and CEO, hosted the 2008 Individual Shareholder meeting. Around 60 existing and potential shareholders joined the event via Second Life - a virtual meeting centre. And more than 300 connections were made to the meeting centre throughout the day.

Growth Beyond Steel

"This represents a new opportunity to dialogue with our existing and potential shareholders. I'm very proud of the range of communications tools that we have, creating value for our employees and all of our stakeholders," said Mr Mittal.

Julien Onillon, VP Investor Relations, opened the session with a presentation outlining the Group's growth targets and ambitions. A question and answer session followed with virtual and real participants wanting to know more about ArcelorMittal's share buy-back programme and the Group's response to rising oil and food prices.

Wind Energy Day at Arcelor Mittal Asturias

On Tuesday, June 17, marked the second European Wind Energy Day, ArcelorMittal Asturias invited a delegation of Spanish journalists to take a closer look at a sector in which the Company's heavy steel plate plays a key role.

The day's activities began with a visit to the Gijón Plate Mill, one of the 14 mills in our Group producing steel for the wind energy sector.

The journalists were shown the production process for steel plate and given an overview of our future investment plans. These investments will increase Gijón's annual production capacity from the current level 600,000 tonnes per year to 800,000 tonnes per year. In 2008, 32% of the mill's production will go to the wind energy sector, a percentage that is expected to rise to 43% by 2010.

One wind turbine tower = 150 tonnes of steel

ArcelorMittal's R&D division has worked continuously on our plate steel, in order to improve its fatigue resistance which will allow future wind turbine towers to be constructed at heights of over 100 metres.

Each wind turbine tower contains approximately 150 tonnes of steel, a material which is itself 100% recyclable.
